Our International Market
M/S Gleon would mainly focus on international markets, which are mainly served at present by leading large-scale tea companies in Sri Lanka, but at relatively higher prices. We as a medium-scale business venture, attempt to supply high-quality tea at competitive prices to such international markets with the aim of gaining a firm foot-hold there.
We believe that price competitiveness while offering a high-quality product is our key factor in succeeding. We try to maintain our general overheads at a lower level compared to large tea packeting businesses and thereby pass the savings to our clientele in terms of low prices. We are also geared to undertake orders to pack tea under a client’s own label, or in bulk according to a client’s requirement.

The story of Nuwaraeliya Tea began in early 1980 and was officially launched in 1989. I was then an ordinary employee counting over 17 Years of experience in the tea industry and have counted over 45 years of experience at my retirement. I consider the 45-year journey as a blessing from heaven, since I was able to involve myself in the entire process from nursery to a fine cup of tea. I had big dreams backed by courage and determination. I dreamt to have my own brand of tea to slake the thrust of tea lovers in the country as well as the globe. It was not easy and was time consuming. I had to compete with reputed brands in the industry and even I myself doubted that it was an impossible dream to fulfill. But tea drinkers around the country made my dream a reality and now it is my pleasure to introduce our new brand Gleon Teas to tea lovers around the world.
Today, counting over 58 years in the industry; my son and daughter-in-law has joined hands with me to realize the ultimate goal of our company by entering the international market with the brand name Gleon Teas. Nuwaraeliya Tea is one of the oldest and reputed companies in Sri Lanka and my vision is to bring the very best of Ceylon tea, rich in flavour and natural goodness to the fingertips of tea lovers around the globe.
It is my duty to memorialize all the magnificent explorers, adventurers and men of the soil, who overcame great adversity to create one great industry. And when that failed; they created an even greater one. It is in recognition of this greatness that we honour those generations of planters, who ran with the baton and kept the flag flying high, as they still do to this very day.

Isaac George Victor - Founder Chairman, Nuwaraeliya Tea & Gleon Teas
The story of Nuwaraeliya Tea Began in the early 1980s..However, his commitment to tea goes all the way back to the 1960s when Mr. Victor decided to start his life changing journey with tea plantation industries at the age of 16. He started his carrier in 1963, attached to Langdale Tea Estate in Thalawakele as a trainee and had the privilege of working under skilled superiors with immense experience. He was blessed to witness the entire process starting from tea nurseries, green tea fields and tea factories during his 45-year carrier path. This journey helped him find out how he could convert his life experience into a life changing cup of Tea.
With immeasurable experience in the tea industry, the brand name “Nuwaraeliya Tea” was launched in 1989 marking one of the most significant milestones of his 45 Year carrier. The brand name Nuwaraeliya Tea has completed 32 years as a prominent player in the domestic market, having catered to thousands of tea lovers around the country for three decades.

Mrs. W. S. Kalpani Fernando
Mrs Kalpani Fernando is a major player of Nuwaraeliya Tea (local arm of Gleon Teas).
She counts over 15 years of experience and is presently involved in the marketing aspect of Gleon Teas. She ensures that goods are packed in accordance with the requirement and delivered on time.
